Tottlemeyer's Corner™ began with a collection of stories for children written by J.R. Perry, a.k.a., me! In my book entitled "The Tales of Elwood Tottlemeyer," one is taken on short adventures with an elven prince named Elwood Tottlemeyer and his friends. Elwood is a personification of one’s inner child; and each tale, while fictional, is based on events I’ve experienced throughout my childhood, and the characters throughout the stories represent important figures in my life. Adults reading to their children will be reminded of the importance of holding on to one’s youth and seeing life through a child’s innocent eyes.
My love for candles and whimsy began when my family would take me as a child to a famous candle store’s flagship location near my hometown. I live in Western, MA, so you might be able to guess the name of it. Fast forward many years later and I began making candles with unique fragrance combinations that were nostalgic to me. Once I had a well-performing product, I began selling to friends and family and the prospect quickly became a success. Thus, Tottlemeyer's Corner™ was born. The name comes from the small corner of my garage that I would use as my workshop, with each product being created with love and care in the child-like spirit of Elwood Tottlemeyer.
Each fragrance in my candle collection has been carefully curated and custom blended to evoke a sense of wonderment through complex aromatic notes. Every tale-inspired candle fragrance is proprietary, and the formulas are only known to us; you can’t find them anywhere else. Each batch of candles is hand poured in small batches at my home in West Springfield, MA. Our unique tale-inspired soy candles offer fragrances inspired by classic fairytales and beloved storybooks. The scents will transport you into your favorite stories, while the labels, featuring hand-illustrated artwork by artist, J.R. Cueto and myself, illustrate the scene. These are just two of the many ways that, here at Tottlemeyer’s Corner™, we are truly “Telling a Tale With Every Candle™.”
